Videotel has unveiled a new e-learning content delivery platform for mobile devices.
It uses the latest internet standards to allow training programs to be accessed on tablets and smartphones. The e-learning platform will let seafarers access training resources from their own devices to test their knowledge or learn new techniques from any internet-connected device. It has hypertext markup language (HTML) 5 responsive-design capabilities, which means content can be rescaled dynamically to any screen size or aspect ratio. Videotel, which is part of KVH, has also incorporated touch navigation for fast movement within training programs and a multi-language capability that allows trainees to switch between languages. The mobile platform also has a night mode for operations in low-light conditions.
